A Reserva with Great Ageing Potential
This is serious and has freshness and some restraint in the palate; its much more expressive, floral and aromatic and with more-integrated oak than the wines from five years ago. Its a more elegant vintage than the 2015 and every bit as good, or a tad better.
- 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 7% Mazuelo and 3% Graciano
- Indigenous yeast fermentation in oak vats
- Aged for 26 months using new French oak barrels which were made at the bodega's own cooperage

STORY BEHIND THIS WINE
Bodegas Muga are one of the leading lights in Rioja. The majority of their vineyard holdings are located in Rioja Alta, a relatively high altitude location which is heavily influenced by its proximity to the Atlantic. This brings a freshness and vitality to the resultant wines. Established in the 1930s Muga are one of the great success stories of Spanish wine. Their output is formidable with zero compromise on quality.
